ResponseAbility Practices
Edgewood Partners conducts its own in-house research to identify companies that are progressive in incorporating the three areas of global sustainability (economic, social and environmental standards) into corporate management practices. Edgewood Partners has developed a proprietary screening system and research methodology to assess companiese in these areas. The research, screening and analysis yield a universe of companies eligible for selection in actively managed portfolios. Companies managed in a more sustainable way tend to have less business risk, higher standards of corporate governance, and participate in and seek innovative and competitive opportunities and strategies leading to better financial performance and investment return.
Edgewood Partners examines sustainability practices in the following areas:
Environmental
All business activities have some impact on the environment through use of natural resources, the production process or residual waste from the product lifecycle. We evaluate the company’s overall environmental impact and its remediation efforts.
Social
We evaluate the company's impact and involvement with its various communities as well as its relationship with all stakeholders.
Economic
We consider and evaluate the long-term economic sustainability of the company, its performance, its positioning, its growth prospects and its management.
